1.there are three different places in the pack dogs are all born as one of these and should be treated accordingly, bottom of pack (or runt) need a strong gentle leader in there life, middle of the pack (happy go lucky) need a fun but stern leader and top of the pack (pick of the litter) need a very firm and confident leader. luckily humans have the ability to have all of these attributes but most people forget (or have never bin told) that you must be on top of your dogs need to belong in a stable pack, in the human world the only way to have a ”good dog” is to be its pack leader. now let me explain what happens when a dog does not have a stable pack leader, the dog will have no choice but to take that role and that never goes well here is what happens, for the B.O.P(bottom of pack) they will become very nervous, anxious and lack confidence(in human terms they are being pushed way out of there comfort zone) in worst cases fear aggression. For M.O.P(middle of pack) they will chew every thing, pee in the house, pull on the leash at everything they see and not listen to a thing you say, best case there a little rebellious and jump on people. F.O.P(front of pack) you have to be very careful in these cases remember they naturally are front of the pack, they will become overly dominant, territorial and those are two attributes that get a dog put down, they will be aggressive towards other dogs, and in some cases people, they can even turn on there own owners because in there eyes your there follower and should do whatever they say, best case (and common) leash aggression.

2. under standing your dogs physical needs, most people see a border collie and think ”cute i want that dog” forgetting that they were bred to run all day and chase sheep, am i saying you shouldn’t get a border collie? absolutely not! they can make some very fun loyal dogs, what i am saying is you will have to commit to running him daily and challenging his made to work mind, and all dogs have that basic way of being, you just wont notice if a Yorkshire terrier didn’t get his daily walk but you would definitely notice if a jack Russell didn’t get his, but you must be willing to commit to whatever breed you choose if you can manage a half hour walk and five minutes of play sure consider a Yorkshire, if you think you can run for two hours strait twice a day go for the collie, and you also have the option of picking a less active individual dog, like humans dogs always have the higher energy and lower energy individuals, though the basic needs will remain.

3. Basic doggy rules that humans almost always ignore, dogs work noise first than eyes than ears humans work in the opposite, we want to pet the doge talk to it and see his cute face, dogs want to smell you get a feel for your energy level before they want any thing else, this is especially true for the more timid B.O.P When people lean down to say hi in the human way the dog sees that as very impolite and may even growl or snap, not because of aggression but because you made them very nervous, i have even seen this in M.O.P dogs of course this is not the case in all dogs but whenever i meet a knew dog i still approach from the side kneel down and let him check me out before i talk make eye contact or pet him, its just dog polite and they greatly appreciate my manners.
